Leitz Cine Introduces Fujifilm G Mount for HEKTOR Lenses

Leitz Cine GmbH has announced the addition of a Fujifilm G mount to its HEKTOR line of mirrorless prime lenses, significantly broadening their compatibility with medium and extra-large format systems. The new mount allows filmmakers and photographers to utilize HEKTOR lenses on Fujifilm's GFX Eterna 55 cine camera and the GFX100 series. While originally designed for full-frame sensors, the HEKTOR lenses feature an expansive image circle that supports traditional cinema aspect ratios on larger sensors with minimal cropping. The G mount is available both as a pre-installed option and as a standalone interchangeable part, joining existing Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF, and Nikon Z mount options.

While designed initially for full frame coverage, the HEKTOR lenses create a much larger image circle. And while not all focal lengths can be used in full sensor open gate mode, they do support the traditional cinema aspect ratios with only a small amount of edge cropping required on the widest focal lengths.
