Astro Extends Malaysia League Broadcast Deal

Astro will remain the Official Broadcaster of the Malaysia League for the next two seasons, confirming live high-definition coverage of the Perlawanan Sumbangsih, Liga Super, Piala FA, Piala Malaysia and the MFL Challenge Cup across its broadcast and streaming services.

"As the Official Broadcaster of the Malaysia League, Astro sees these matches as more than just football competitions. They serve as a platform that brings supporters together and contributes to the growth of the local sports ecosystem. The momentum we witnessed last season has reinforced our confidence in the league’s potential. Sooka recorded a 52% increase in total viewing minutes, while Malaysia League content across Astro’s digital and social media platforms generated more than 575 million views over the past three seasons. This growth reflects the rising interest in local football and motivates us to continue delivering the best viewing experience for fans," said Nicholas John, Head of Sports, Astro.

"MFL is delighted to continue its partnership with Astro as the Official Broadcaster of the Malaysia League. This ongoing collaboration reflects both parties’ confidence in the potential and future of local football, while ensuring that Malaysia League competitions continue to receive extensive coverage and remain accessible to fans nationwide. We appreciate Astro’s continued commitment to strengthening the commercial value of the Malaysia League and the local football ecosystem, and we are confident that this partnership will continue to benefit MFL, clubs, and the Malaysian football community," said Dato' Ab Ghani Hassan, President of the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

This season adds fresh on-screen voices, with Nidzam Jamil and Yusri Che Lah joining Astro’s pundit roster. They will sit alongside existing experts Zaquan Adha, Razman Roslan, Farizal Marlias, Nizaruddin Yusof and Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan. A refreshed studio format will also give analysts a bigger role in hosting and driving debate. Keesh “Mat Stats” and Faiz Gurun will front Liga Super programming, while Bang Med leads coverage of the Piala FA and Piala Malaysia.
