TVC Completes Large-Format LED Installation
TVC Technology Solutions has completed a large-format LED installation at Genting Casino at Resorts World Birmingham, creating a new digital focal point above the venue’s main bar.
The installation was designed to display live television, sport, entertainment, promotional material and branded content on a large scale, while providing Genting employees with flexible control over multiple video sources.
At the centre of the installation is a Hisense XIHFE Series COB LED display measuring 7.8 metres wide by 3.38 metres high. The 26m² screen is equivalent to a 335in television and features a 1.56mm pixel pitch with a resolution of 4,992 x 2,160.
The display provides more than 10.7 million individual pixels, enabling live broadcasts, sporting events, promotional graphics and branded content to be shown across the full width of the screen.
The LED wall comprises 130 die-cast aluminium cabinets arranged in a 13-by-10 configuration. Its modular design allows individual sections to be accessed for servicing when required.
A bespoke B-Tech mounting system was engineered to support the display across its full 7.8-metre width. Bespoke surround panels were also installed around the perimeter to create an integrated finish that complements the venue’s interior.
The COB LED technology provides a durable and uniform display surface suited to a busy public entertainment environment, while the 3.84kHz refresh rate enables smooth playback of fast-moving content.
A NovaStar VX2000 Pro controller manages the LED display, providing video processing capabilities including advanced layouts, scaling and picture-in-picture functionality.
TVC also installed four WyreStorm NHD-400-TX NetworkHD encoders to provide Genting Casino with greater flexibility over the content displayed on the screen.
The encoders convert HDMI sources into low-latency IP video streams, allowing content to be routed through the venue’s network and delivered to the LED processor. Staff can switch between different sources depending on the requirements of the venue, including live sport, television broadcasts, entertainment, advertising and promotional content.
The completed installation gives Genting Casino Resorts World Birmingham a prominent digital display while providing a flexible platform for managing a range of live and recorded content.
The project combines Hisense COB LED technology, NovaStar processing, WyreStorm AV-over-IP distribution and a bespoke B-Tech mounting solution to create an integrated display system designed for the demands of a large-scale entertainment venue.
The installation adds to TVC Technology Solutions’ portfolio of LED and AV projects across the hospitality and entertainment sectors.
