Details Released For FOCAL International Footage CPD Week

The FOCAL International Footage CPD Week (formerly the FOCAL International Training Week) will take place at various locations in and around London, from 19 – 23 September, 2016.
From capture to sell through with many of the elements in between – the event aims to provide a better understanding of the footage and content business. A schedule for the week can be found here.
For the week, registration is available at an early bird rate of £850 (+ VAT). From 15 August, this increases to £900 (+ VAT). The ticket price includes tuition, visits, Copyright and Archive Forum, Archive Researchers Conference, lunches, refreshments, networking event, Imperial War Museum (IWM); Cinema Museum; Pinewood Studios; BBC Television Centre; Regent Street Cinema; Associated Press; Sky News.
The week of events has been supported by Creative Skillset and there are at least five potential grants available to those who live in the UK and are not in full-time education. For further information, people should contact the FOCAL International office.

There will also be two separate modules held on 21 and 22 September, at the Regent Street campus of Westminster University and Regent Street Cinema, respectively.
The cost is per module, but there is an opportunity to book both and receive a discount.
On Wednesday 21 September is the 'Researching Footage and Content' Conference. It involves end to end research, music and sports rights, third party rights, orphan works, as related to the use of Footage and Content in all forms of production.
The speakers are all experts within their field and the conference is open to researchers, producers and those wishing to understand the archive researcher's job. It will be held at Westminster University, Regent Street, London.

On Thursday 22 September is the 'Copyright and Footage Archive Forum: One-day Conference – From Capture of Content to Sell Through'. The event will include UK and International Copyright Law, understanding the workflow of Archive Producers and Researchers, restoration and preservation, and how to make footage content held in production companies from reels in boxes through to file-based content useable and useful.
Regent Street Cinema, London, is the venue.
Again, speakers are all experts within their field and the conference is open to film and television producers, researchers, archive producers, production managers, facility companies, metadata companies and all users of footage and content on all moving picture platforms.
