EOLAS Media, new-media and television producers, have developed and animated world of Calanais Stones as part of the launch of a new service called Interactive Interpretive Environments (IIE).
This new division of the company is focused on creating high-tech audio-visual presentation solutions for the Culture and Heritage industry.
Company Chairman, Bill Morrison, said: “The Culture and Heritage Industry competes on a global scale and increasingly organisations need to find new ways of attracting and holding visitors, we are seeing some of the effects of this competition right now in the UK tourism figures. The recent BAFTA success of our first IIE production, ‘Timewalk Village’, plus strong feedback and market research prompted us to develop this new division.”
The IIE service creates Interactive worlds that are displayed in heritage and culture centres on touch screen computers or on Virtual Reality headsets.
Morrison said: “Eolas Media have been producing digital media for ten years so we understand the importance of getting the best return for information assets. Although heritage and culture organisations will always need to display information at visitors attractions. IIE extends the reach of their message and their ability to generate revenue from it; we have also found the response from younger visitors to be excellent. We have made significant investment in building and marketing IIE. Our team has a strong background in 3D-programming and Multi Media design which is supported by a very customer focused project management team.”
IIE are a division of Eolas Media who have offices in Stornoway, Glasgow and Sussex. (CD)
