Media City Qatar And IAMT Seal Platinum Partnership To Elevate Qatar’s Media Hub Ambitions

News Image
Media City Qatar (MCQ) and the International Association of MediaTech (IAMT) have formed a Platinum Partnership designed to advance industry dialogue, spur innovation and deepen collaboration across markets. The tie-up supports MCQ’s strategy to position Qatar as a leading regional centre for media and content creation by connecting global know-how with the region’s growth plans.

Under the agreement, MCQ will gain expanded international visibility throughout 2026 via IAMT’s digital platforms and presence at major trade shows, including IBC (Amsterdam), NAB Show (United States), ISE (Barcelona), CABSAT (Dubai), Broadcast Asia (Singapore) and Inter BEE (Japan). The initiative is intended to strengthen awareness of Qatar’s fast-developing media ecosystem at key industry touchpoints worldwide.

The partnership also prioritises long-term sector development, giving MCQ access to selected IAMT training programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives that support leadership advancement, skills development and broader capacity building. These activities align with MCQ’s mandate to cultivate a future-ready media landscape in the region.

Hamad Omar A. Al-Mannai, CEO of Media City Qatar, said: “This partnership strengthens Media City Qatar’s role as a connector between regional ambition and global industry expertise. Through IAMT’s international platforms and leading industry events, we are expanding access to global networks, insight, and visibility that support our licensed companies and help attract new international media, content creation and technology players to Qatar, reinforcing the country’s position as a regional platform for growth and collaboration, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Saleha Williams, CEO IAMT, said: “At IAMT, we are evolving alongside the industry we serve, expanding beyond our broadcast roots to connect the full MediaTech ecosystem—from technology providers to end users. Media City Qatar represents a dynamic and fast-growing hub within that global landscape, with a clear vision for innovation and long-term development. This partnership creates a foundation for new opportunities by connecting regional growth with global expertise, enabling companies to access emerging markets, form strategic partnerships, and play a more active role in shaping the next phase of the MediaTech industry.”

MCQ, which hosts more than 350 licensed companies ranging from start-ups to established international firms, said the agreement underscores its commitment to international collaboration and to expanding its role as a globally connected hub for media and technology.
