LOWIT APPOINTED HEAD OF MARKETING AT S&M

COMMERCIALS post-production house Smoke & Mirrors (S&M) have revealed that Amanda Lowit, recent head of television and a board director at Grey Worldwide in London, has joined the company in the newly created role of Head of Marketing.
Lowit, who brings 23 years’ experience in agency production to S&M, will spearhead marketing initiatives to encourage new business from the advertising, music video and television industries. She will also work with the company’s senior management on long-term strategic business and technological development.
S&M Facility Director, Penny Verbe, said: “Post production has become more competitive than ever. Whilst S&M have a considerable reputation for handling top creative projects, we’re broadening our facilities to manage a greater range of everyday work. Amanda’s experience in production will be highly beneficial, particularly in dealing with a broader spectrum of post production work on a day -to-day basis.”
Lowit started her career in agency production at FCB, where she worked on blue-chip accounts for 11 years, before joining Grey Worldwide as a Senior Producer. She left Grey Worldwide in February this year after a six-year spell as Head of Television, and turned down offers from several other London post production companies to join S&M.
Lowit said: “S&M have a fantastic creative reputation, and I can see tremendous opportunities where my insight will help to extend the company’s skills into new areas. S&M are one of the few independently-owned companies, they are forward-thinking, and offer a very personal service. My role is to convey this to the production industry at large, and to help take the company forward to their next stage of development.” (CD)
