Odido Selects Synamedia Go To Power Streaming Service

News Image
Synamedia has announced that Odido, one of the Netherlands’ leading telecommunications providers, has selected its Synamedia Go platform to power the Odido TV streaming service.

The agreement will see Odido migrate its existing TV subscribers to a modular, cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, while maintaining continuity and minimising disruption for customers.

Synamedia Go provides a range of tools for operating premium video services, including content discovery, multi-digital rights management (DRM) security, subscriber management, analytics and ready-made applications. The platform is designed to help operators personalise viewing experiences, increase audience engagement and retain subscribers.

The adoption of Synamedia Go will provide Odido with a flexible foundation to develop its TV service as business requirements and customer expectations evolve.

The platform’s AI-powered modules will allow the provider to introduce additional features as needed, including personalised recommendations and automatically generated short-form video feeds. These capabilities are designed to accelerate the launch of new viewing experiences and help the company generate revenue from new services more quickly.

Steve Reeves, Chief Revenue Officer at Synamedia said: "Odido has a clear vision for the future of its TV service, and Go gives it the flexibility to realise that vision at its own pace, without disrupting the experience for existing subscribers. This is exactly what we designed Go to do: help operators move beyond legacy technology to a more flexible, modular foundation that simplifies operations and makes it easier to innovate, adapt and unlock new revenue opportunities."

The migration reflects Odido's plans to modernise its TV infrastructure while retaining service continuity for existing subscribers. By moving to a cloud-based, modular platform, the company aims to simplify operations, introduce new features more quickly and create further opportunities to engage viewers across its streaming service.
