Qvest Media has announced an expansion of its business in the UK and Northern Europe with the appointment of Thomas Birner as Head of Sales for these regions.

With immediate effect, he will be responsible for strengthening and establishing the company's activities in these markets. The goals are to build close customer and business relationships, to develop new distribution channels and to drive Qvest Media's growth.

As the new Head of Sales UK & Nordics, Thomas Birner (48) will be responsible for the development and implementation of Qvest Media's sales strategies in the UK and Northern Europe. Further, he will also continue expanding the Business Development unit.

In his new role, he will strengthen the international growth of the company and deepen customer and business relationships, thereby consolidating Qvest Media's position as a leading systems architect for broadcasting and media technology. As part of this process, Birner will be entrusted with creating market analyses and revenue forecasts, and will be closely involved in developing market- and customer-related products and services.

About his move to Qvest Media Thomas Birner said: "I have always been in regular contact with Qvest Media, even in my previous positions at various tech firms. It is obvious that Qvest Media is currently among the most successful companies in our business. The company is characterised by its massive dynamism, team spirit, entrepreneurship and will to change, which are all important motives for my re-orientation."

Daniel Url, Managing Director at Qvest Media, added: "Thomas Birner has gained years of experience in the media industry. He has outstanding expertise in the areas of Sales and Business Development and a sense for trends and innovations which he uses to delight customers and partners in the United Kingdom and the Nordic markets."
