Drone Experts Expand Offering

News Image
Oxfordshire based Aerial Motion Pictures (AMP) has expanded its broadcast, film and video offering with the recruitment of new Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved drone pilots with broadcast experience, alongside the launch of equipment hire and super-heavy lift drone white label services.

With work for the BBC, SKY and a number of production companies already completed, AMP is quickly becoming known for its high quality aerial filming and aerial point-cloud delivery service, providing the industry with access to professional kit such as handheld MōVI gimbals and Aerigon professional drone platforms that retail from £12,000 upwards.

Matt Williams, Managing Director and Head of Training & Flight Operations, said: "AMP are proud to continue to provide the industry with the most experienced pilots and top quality equipment that is already the professional standard in order to ensure we deliver the best aerial footage available, safely.

"For companies that already have a preferred drone pilot in place, we will soon be extending our range of ICARUS (CAA approved) training courses to cover operating the Freefly MōVI range and 3D Modelling/Surveying, and we are now proud to be able to offer the entire Freefly range of products for sale in our online shop."

Aerial Motion Pictures have also just launched a hire branch, offering products such as the Teradek Bolt Pro 2000, Canon CN-E Lenses, Freefly MōVI range and drones on both a dry and wet-hire basis dependent upon the application at industry beating prices.

Callum Bannister, AMP's Hire Manager, said: "Our aim is to provide an alternative to traditional rental houses by offering industry leading equipment at incredible prices. We want crews and productions at all levels to be able to access the latest equipment and are excited to watch people and companies grow as a result; we can't wait to see what people make with our gear."

He went on to say: "Wet hire of our specialist point cloud capture aircraft and heavy lift drones is one of the most exciting aspects of our hire proposals, making the ability to gain access to a super-heavy lift aircraft, capable of flying any camera/lens combination with 3 axis FIZ, available to all under our new white label service."

AMP was founded by Williams in 2014, a former front-line military helicopter pilot who was forced to give-up flying full sized aircrafts after a serious flying accident, explaining the company's zero tolerance approach to neglect of safety.

Williams concludes: "We believe we have really set the bar when it comes to safety and take a tougher approach than other operators and training companies by increasing the pass mark of our ICARUS CAA approved courses to 80% rather than 70%, which definitely hasn't deterred people from our courses and has in fact, had the reverse affect."
