Media Links Appoint Head Of EMEA Region

John Smith has been appointed as Media Links Head of EMEA Region, the company has announced.

Media Links EMEA develops broadcast network infrastructure technologies to transport content over IP contribution and primary distribution networks, and Mr Smith will be responsible for managing the expansion of the organisation throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

John Smith is a technology sales, marketing, business development, industry professional. As well as consultancy, he has held senior roles for more than 25 years working with technology companies including, Sony, Logica, Saudi Telecoms, OKI Systems, Feltech and IVC Media.

Smith commented: "Media Global Links Co., Ltd. (MGL), was founded in 1993 by Mr. Eiichi Hayashi, President and CEO, at Kawasaki, Japan and has accumulated expertise in broadcast and telecommunications by providing innovative design, superior technology and OEM services is driving change in the real-time video contribution space.

"Due to unprecedented demand for our services Media Links is now expanding into new geographical markets. With our new Media Links EMEA UK base, we are now well positioned to continue to set new standards in developing advanced video technology and cement our leadership in Ethernet and SONET based solutions for contribution video for our clients across the region.

"Part of our expansion plans involve the roll-out of a partner programme which we are launching at IBC 2015," he continued. "We are aiming to work with like-minded industry leading organisations to develop solutions for broadcasters and network providers to enable them to convert and move the complete suite of broadcast signals – whether video, audio or data – onto their multi-service IP/Ethernet networks."
