Media Links Integrates Xscend Platform With DataMiner
Media Links has announced the integration of its Xscend IP media transport platform with Skyline Communications' DataMiner xOps platform, a move designed to improve visibility and operational control across complex multi-vendor broadcast and telecoms networks.
The integration will be showcased publicly for the first time at Broadcast Asia 2026, taking place from 20–22 May, where Media Links will exhibit at stand 4M4-4.
The partnership enables Media Links' Xscend systems to be monitored and managed within DataMiner environments, allowing operators to oversee transport infrastructure alongside other network systems through a single operational interface.
The companies said the development reflects the growing demand for layered management architectures as media and telecommunications networks become increasingly distributed and software-driven.
"Media Links has long been known for delivering a complete and robust transport solution, including control and management," said John Dale, CMO at Media Links. "At the same time, we recognize that many of our customers operate in multi-vendor environments and rely on platforms like DataMiner for centralized visibility and orchestration. This integration makes it easier to bring Xscend into those existing workflows and align with how networks are managed today."
Media Links said interoperability with DataMiner would help simplify deployment processes while improving monitoring, control and coordination across a broader range of network infrastructures.
Skyline Communications said the integration would support organisations preparing for increasingly automated and AI-driven operational environments.
"For our users, DataMiner has become the operating system to manage complex operational ecosystems. Platforms are converging, media companies need to prepare themselves for the GenAI era, and time to value has become more important than ever," said Thomas Gunkel, Market Director Broadcast at Skyline Communications. "To make this transition a success, the foundation needs to be right first. And this is exactly what we do by integrating Media Links' Xscend platform into DataMiner, to allos users managing high-performance IP transport within a unified operational environment today and to be ready for an AI-driven intelligence and autonomous era."
The Xscend platform is designed to transport video, audio and data across wide area IP networks with low latency and high reliability. Media Links said the system is intended for use in live production, remote workflows and large-scale contribution environments, incorporating features such as hitless protection switching and integration with the company’s ProMD EMS element management system.
DataMiner, meanwhile, is positioned as an xOps platform designed to unify infrastructure management, analytics, automation and orchestration across sectors including broadcast, telecoms, satellite and utilities. Skyline Communications said the platform is currently deployed in more than 125 countries and integrated with over 9,000 products from 1,000 technology vendors worldwide.
