Astro Launches Box-Free Astro X3
Astro has introduced Astro X3, a new streaming-first way to watch its content that requires no box and no installation, while also revealing a broad pipeline of upcoming films, dramas and live programmes for Malaysian audiences in the months ahead.
Henry Tan, Group CEO, Astro, said: "At Astro, our focus has always been on connecting Malaysians with the content that resonates most with them—from compelling local stories and live entertainment to world-class live sports and global content. As viewing habits continue to evolve, Astro X3 reflects our commitment to making Astro simpler and more accessible than ever before. Customers can sign up directly from their mobile devices and start streaming instantly. With no box, no installation and, from December 2026 onwards, no contract required, Astro X3 gives customers greater freedom and flexibility to enjoy Astro on their terms."
Designed for today's streaming audiences, Astro X3 lets customers sign up and start watching immediately via the Astro app on compatible smart TVs, with seamless viewing across devices through Astro GO. The service includes Astro Originals, major live sports such as the Premier League, AFC and UEFA Champions League, Formula 1, MotoGP, Wimbledon and international badminton tournaments, alongside global live entertainment.
From 20 July 2026, Astro X3 will be available on two 12‑month contract options: the Astro X3: Entertainment 12 Pack at RM39.99 per month and the Astro X3: Sports 12 Pack at RM89.99 per month. All Astro X3: Sports Pack subscriptions include the Entertainment Pack channels.
To add flexibility, no‑contract packs will follow from December 2026. Customers will be able to choose the Astro X3: Entertainment Pack from RM59.99 per month or the Astro X3: Sports Pack from RM109.99 per month, with the freedom to subscribe, pause or cancel at any time.
Alongside the product launch, Astro outlined a rich content slate. Upcoming movie titles include Terbang, Kudrat 1968 and HAK: Tuntut atau Tunduk. New and returning dramas span Bulan Henti Bicara, Sumpahan Mencintaimu, Love of My Life, Jutawan Ekspres 2, Premier League: I Love You, WOLONG: The Mastermind, Maara and Marmadesam.
Astro will also bring audiences together through its Signature Live programmes, among them Big Stage Rocketfuel, Astro Star Quest 2026 – The Next Wave, Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2026 and Kilauan Emas Selebriti.
With blockbuster films, compelling dramas, live entertainment, sport and bite‑sized storytelling, Astro continues to evolve its ecosystem to meet viewers wherever they are. Astro X3 makes that content easier to access, offering more ways for Malaysians to discover and enjoy the stories and moments they love.
