Globecast To Showcase Media Orchestration Platform
Globecast will showcase its next-generation media orchestration services at NAB Show New York 2026, taking place October 21–22 at the Javits Center in New York City.
The company will demonstrate how its Content Exchange service and new Media Orchestration and Operations Management Platform, MooM, are designed to simplify hybrid media operations, improve workflow control and help broadcasters prepare for major infrastructure changes, including the planned reallocation of C-band spectrum in North America.
Previewed at IBC 2026, MooM extends Globecast’s software-defined approach beyond media transport, bringing remote production, playout, media asset management, content preparation, headend operations and over-the-top (OTT) delivery into a single operational environment.
Working alongside Content Exchange, the platform provides visibility, automation and control across satellite, fibre, IP, public cloud and private infrastructure. Globecast says the approach enables media organisations to modernise their operations while maintaining existing services and protecting previous infrastructure investments.
The Federal Communications Commission’s planned reallocation of 160 MHz of upper C-band spectrum in 2027 presents broadcasters and distribution partners with a significant infrastructure planning challenge.
C-band has long been used for its extensive reach, reliability and predictable operating costs. However, no single alternative is able to replicate all these characteristics in every location, making the transition a business-continuity consideration as well as a technical decision.
Globecast is working with customers and industry stakeholders to assess migration strategies involving Ku-band satellite, managed IP, fibre, cloud services and hybrid architectures.
Content Exchange is designed to provide a unified orchestration layer for live and file-based content distribution across these different transport networks. Through a single interface, the service connects multiple transport resources with real-time monitoring and automated provisioning.
The approach allows broadcasters to migrate in stages, evaluate alternative connectivity options and introduce appropriate levels of redundancy while maintaining operational stability throughout the transition.
Globecast is also drawing on its own infrastructure modernisation programme. Over the past two years, the company has eliminated nearly 100 satellite antennas as it moved video intake and distribution towards IP-first infrastructure.
The transformation has included a new broadcast facility in Westlake Village, California, and modernised hubs in Paris, London, Singapore and Johannesburg. According to Globecast, the work was completed in collaboration with customers and technology partners while maintaining service continuity for major cable networks, live sports operations and OTT platforms.
While Content Exchange provides the foundation for Globecast’s modern media delivery strategy, MooM extends orchestration and control across the wider media operations chain.
The software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform uses an open, API-driven architecture to integrate existing systems and third-party tools across media workflows. Designed for hybrid environments incorporating Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and private infrastructure, MooM aims to simplify fragmented operational control and coordinate resources across different environments.
The platform also incorporates financial operations (FinOps) capabilities and AI-powered operational tools to help manage resource allocation and costs.
Globecast says the combination is intended to help customers scale services more predictably, launch live events and channels more quickly, and test new services and monetisation models without requiring significant upfront capital investment.
Through its presence at NAB Show New York, Globecast will highlight how its orchestration services can support broadcasters and media organisations as they navigate changing distribution requirements, modernise infrastructure and manage increasingly complex hybrid workflows.
