Net Insight Debuts Full IP JPEG XS Platform
Net Insight has unveiled a full IP JPEG XS offering at NAB Show 2026 aimed at broadcasters scaling to higher volumes of UHD and Full HD live production.
The company said the standards‑based, high‑density architecture delivers ultra‑low latency and significantly greater processing capacity without adding operational complexity or infrastructure cost.
According to Net Insight, its JPEG XS implementation is built for standards compliance, interoperability and predictable performance. It supports visually lossless UHD and Full HD contribution at efficient bitrates, with ultra‑dense hardware enabling up to 192 Full HD or 90 UHD JPEG XS streams per device in full IP ST 2110 environments, allowing media organisations to expand capacity while reducing operational overheads.
The platform integrates ultra‑dense media processing, switching and security demarcation in a single IP media system, simplifying designs and removing the need for extra devices between network domains. As a modular extension, it can be paired with Net Insight’s media‑ready 400G IP backbone and backhaul to consolidate large workflows onto fewer high‑capacity links, improving network utilisation and lowering total cost of ownership as production scales.
"JPEG XS has already proven its value with Tier 1 broadcasters operating at high capacity, where performance, reliability and interoperability are non-negotiable," said Andreas Eriksson, CEO of Net Insight. "This full IP solution takes the next step by combining open standards, ultra-dense media processing and deep IP expertise into a future-proof architecture for live production."
Net Insight sad the solution is already used in live environments where SDI and IP will coexist for the long term, spanning permanent facilities, temporary venues and partner‑operated networks. Extensive multi‑vendor interoperability testing is intended to enable stepwise adoption of ST 2110 without forced replacement or added operational risk.
Fully integrated with Nimbra Live Intelligence, the platform offers unified monitoring, control and automation across edge, aggregation and core, reducing manual intervention, over‑provisioning and operational risk during mission‑critical events.
