Tuxera Demonstrates High-Performance File Sharing Solutions
At the NAB Show, Tuxera is set to highlight significant performance gains in file sharing technologies, while introducing its new Fusion NFS solution alongside the established Fusion SMB platform.
Exhibiting at booth N1660 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from 19–22 April, the company will showcase advancements designed to meet the growing demands of high-resolution media production and large-scale collaborative workflows, which have increasingly pushed traditional file sharing architectures to their limits.
Working with industry partners, Tuxera has focused on delivering enhanced performance through a highly optimized SMB platform. The company reports substantial improvements in throughput and efficiency, aimed at boosting productivity for media professionals.
"Our Windows SMB Direct – RDMA – performance is insanely fast," said Duncan Beattie, Market Development Manager at Tuxera. "We are now regularly seeing systems running at 40 GB/s, and in our labs, we have seen 250 GB/s to one workstation.
"Working closely with our partner ATTO Technology, our multi-channel implementation has seen MacOS throughput reach 8.6 GB/s - a 62% increase since NAB2025," Beattie added. "These speeds are transformative for the post industry, and will deliver real, monetizable and creative values to media professionals."
According to the company, Tuxera Fusion SMB delivers high-performance connectivity between creative users and core storage, particularly in environments where scalability is critical. Using SMB Direct with RDMA, systems can achieve speeds of up to 24.4 GB/s from a single 200 GbE connection, enabling near–storage-level data access speeds for workstations.
Alongside SMB developments, Tuxera is introducing Fusion NFS, aimed at users requiring high-performance NFS workflows, such as rendering, visual effects and image scanning. The company said the new solution extends its performance-focused approach to a broader range of production environments.
The show will also feature a technology preview demonstrating seamless integration between SMB and NFS protocols. Planned demonstrations include high availability and failover capabilities, SMB compression, and the integration of QUIC to enable secure data transfers across wide area networks and the public internet.
"Tuxera has been building quality-assured file systems for industry for more than 30 years, with more than a decade of delivering enterprise-grade SMB file sharing," Beattie said. "We have brought all that experience to the world of media, where we are transforming what is possible, and now adding NFS alongside SMB to provide a true multi-protocol solution to broadcast and media. Fusion NFS is faster than NFSD and twice the throughput of Ganesha."
"Visitors to NAB will be stunned by the throughput our systems can deliver, and the rich feature set of our solutions," he said. "All of this translates to better creativity, tighter security and boosted productivity, resulting in more engaging content getting to air faster."
