AIMS To Officially Launch IPMX Standard At ISE 2026
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will officially launch Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) as a fully developed, certifiable standard at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026, marking a major milestone for Pro AV-over-IP technology.
Taking place from 3–6 February at the Fira de Barcelona in Spain, ISE 2026 will be the first major industry event to feature formally certified IPMX products. Exhibiting at booth 5K880, AIMS will showcase the first wave of IPMX-compliant solutions, all of which successfully completed formal certification during the recent IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event in Geneva, Switzerland.
"ISE 2026 marks a defining moment for IPMX, AIMS, and the Pro AV industry," said Andrew Starks, board of directors member and marketing working group chair for AIMS. "After years of collaborative development and real-world testing, IPMX is launching at ISE as a certifiable and deployable technology, with products that have formally demonstrated interoperability and compliance. As certified products begin to enter the market, we're excited about the year ahead as IPMX drives the evolution of AV-over-IP from proprietary implementations toward a truly open, innovative, and future-proof ecosystem."
Alongside certified products, AIMS will present a live IPMX demonstration at its booth, highlighting real-world deployments and practical implementation scenarios. The demo will focus on the simplicity of deploying and operating IPMX-based systems, underscoring the readiness of the standard for immediate use in Pro AV environments. Attendees will also be able to preview upcoming IPMX training initiatives planned for 2026 and beyond.
IPMX technology will also be featured across several partner kiosks within the AIMS booth. Member companies Packet Storm, Providius, Evertz, MegaPixel and Meinberg will demonstrate IPMX-based systems in a variety of real-world scenarios, including interoperability with technologies such as SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, JPEG XS and Dante.
ISE 2026 will additionally mark AIMS' 10-year anniversary, celebrating a decade of collaboration, innovation and advocacy for open media-over-IP standards. To commemorate both the anniversary and the official IPMX launch, AIMS will host a cocktail reception at its booth on Tuesday, 4 February, at 4:30 p.m., open to all ISE attendees.
Developed by AIMS in collaboration with the Video Services Forum (VSF) and the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), IPMX is based on SMPTE ST 2110 and tailored to meet the specific requirements of both broadcast and Pro AV environments. The standard is designed to simplify SMPTE ST 2110 implementation, ensure interoperability across AV-over-IP systems and support key Pro AV features, including asynchronous audio and video, 4K60 transmission over a single gigabit network, and HDCP content protection. IPMX also incorporates a control layer built on AMWA’' NMOS specifications, reducing reliance on proprietary control protocols and enhancing overall system interoperability.
