IPMX Extends Award Streak With Three Best of Show Wins
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) announced that its Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) suite of open standards and specifications earned three Best of Show awards at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas, extending a string of industry recognitions across major events this year.
The honours came from AV Technology, Sound & Video Contractor (SVC), and rAVe Publications, adding to momentum that has already included Best of Show recognition at ISE 2026 in February and a NAB Show Product of the Year Award in April.
AV Technology selected IPMX as one of its Best of Show winners from among hundreds of submissions at the annual Pro AV trade show. Sound & Video Contractor also awarded IPMX Best of Show recognition, with judges highlighting efforts by the AIMS partner ecosystem to adapt SMPTE ST 2110 for the specific requirements of professional AV applications. Judges noted that with products from more than a dozen manufacturers certified and showcased at the event, IPMX has moved from concept to practical implementation. rAVe Publications recognized IPMX as the Best AV-over-IP Solution in its Control and AV-over-IP category.
The latest awards arrive amid broader market activity surrounding IPMX in 2026. Earlier this year, the first IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event concluded at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Geneva. The event resulted in certification for 52 products from 11 manufacturers, spanning encoders, decoders, gateways, cameras, displays, and processing platforms.
AIMS said the certification ecosystem will continue expanding, with a second testing and certification event scheduled for Aug. 24–28. In June, the organization also launched the Official IPMX Training Series, a free online program intended to guide users through topics ranging from core IPMX concepts to system and network design.
"Winning Best of Show at InfoComm after the same recognition at ISE and the NAB Product of the Year Award earlier this year tells us that the Pro AV industry is not just curious about open standards, it is ready to build on them," said Andrew Starks, board of directors member and marketing working group chair for AIMS. "With 52 certified products already in the market, a second certification event coming in August, and the first part of the free training series now available to the community, IPMX is delivering on every front. These awards are a vote of confidence from the industry, and the path ahead has never looked brighter."
IPMX is designed as a set of open standards and specifications that extends SMPTE ST 2110-based media transport and AMWA NMOS-based control into broader markets, including professional AV, live events, corporate media, and education. In addition to supporting uncompressed workflows, the platform incorporates compressed video support, simplified system timing, HDCP integration, and defined system profiles intended to improve scalability and deployment for Pro AV environments.
