Rohde & Schwarz To Showcase 5G Broadcast Technologies

Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its latest energy-efficient transmitters and 5G Broadcast technologies, designed to support network operators and content providers in driving operational resilience, sustainability, and new business models.
Rohde & Schwarz will return to CABSAT in 2025 to showcase its latest broadcast distribution solutions. The focus will be on supporting network operators and content providers with technologies that unlock new business models while driving operational resilience and sustainability.
The R&S®TH1 will be a key attraction for Rohde & Schwarz at the show. This liquid-cooled high-power transmitter is designed to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic broadcast landscape. It features an improved amplifier architecture that delivers a significant boost in energy efficiency, achieving a 15% reduction in power consumption compared to other current models. Its advanced liquid cooling system allows more than 90% of the heat generated to be directed outside the building, further reducing energy requirements and lowering the overall cost of ownership. The R&S®TH1's flexibility supports evolving operational models and makes it an ideal platform for introducing new services such as 5G Broadcast.
Visitors can explore how Rohde & Schwarz supports 5G Broadcast deployment, including practical demonstrations of use cases such as venue casting, dynamic advertising, and multimedia alerts. These examples highlight the technology's ability to deliver content to large numbers of mobile users simultaneously, without consuming cellular bandwidth.
The company will also present its DAB+ transmitter portfolio, which is optimised for performance and cost-efficiency across a range of power levels: the R&S®TLV9 (2HE, air-cooled) for outputs starting at 50 W, the R&S®TMV9evo (air-cooled) for outputs starting at 350 W, and the R&S®THV9evo (liquid-cooled) for outputs from 1.3 kW upwards. All models are built for reliable operation and deliver high efficiency to ensure a low total cost of ownership, supporting broadcasters’ ongoing transition to digital radio services.
Rohde & Schwarz is exhibiting at CABSAT 2025 as part of the Bavarian Pavilion, Stand S1-J30a.
