Rohde & Schwarz To Showcase Unified DTV+ And 5G Broadcast Ecosystem
Rohde & Schwarz will unveil its latest next‑generation broadcast innovations at SET Expo 2026, underlining its role as a key technology partner for Brazil's DTV+ rollout.
On stand 52 in São Paulo from 17 to 20 August 2026, the company will demonstrate an integrated ecosystem spanning both DTV+ and 5G Broadcast, with live, end‑to‑end transmissions designed to show how emerging standards can boost operational efficiency and support sustainable, future‑proof investment in transmitter networks.
As DTV+ moves into commercial service in Brazil, the first active transmitter sites in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are already using Rohde & Schwarz technology. These on‑air implementations showcase market readiness and open the door to new services such as 4K/8K UHD, targeted advertising, interactive shopping and advanced datacasting. Thanks to software‑defined transmission, broadcasters can evolve their infrastructure with changing standards while protecting prior investment.
Visitors will see a connected workflow in which a single content feed serves multiple delivery paths. Both the DTV+ and 5G Broadcast systems share a Studio to Transmitter Link Transport Protocol (STLTP) stream provided by partner Speedcast. 5G Broadcast signals will be received on commercial mobile devices, including the motorola razr 60 ultra powered by a Snapdragon chipset, and Qualcomm devices.
The DTV+ showcase will highlight an efficient MIMO deployment, demonstrating the standard’s performance in a practical environment.
Running in parallel, the 5G Broadcast chain will operate as a seamless transmission path comprising the compact R&S®TLU9 transmitter, the R&S®SDE900 software‑defined exciter and the R&S®BSCC2.0 (BSCC). Using the exact same STLTP feed as DTV+, the setup provides a clear proof of how both technologies can coexist within a shared infrastructure.
"Rohde & Schwarz has longstanding experience in providing reliable solutions for the broadcasting sector," said Thiago Nakagawa, Head of the Broadcasting Department at Rohde & Schwarz Brazil. "The commercial launch of the first DTV+ stations in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro underscores our commitment to supporting the Brazilian market as it transitions into the future of next-generation broadcasting. At SET Expo 2026, we will showcase how broadcasters can open up new opportunities and establish a flexible, sustainable and future-proof infrastructure using software-defined, integrated solutions."
