APTN provide comprehensive coverage of Chinese Premier's visit to America

APTN, the world's largest television news agency, have won international praise for their extensive coverage of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's recent visit to the US.
APTN's exclusive news feed included live coverage of the Chinese Premier visiting the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as well as images of United States President George W. Bush welcoming the Premier to the White House.
The quality and depth of coverage has been appreciated and commented on by APTN's broadcast news subscribers; including Hong Kong and mainland Chinese channels, for whom the coverage held particular relevance and importance. All four Hong Kong- based stations ran APTN live-to-air during the Chinese Premier's visit to Harvard University.
APTN was the only source of live cover from Harvard, arranging a microwave to take the live signal from Harvard direct to the local television station and then onwards to Washington DC via the vyvex fibre network. Two of the major Hong Kong-based stations, Hong Kong Cable TV and Phoenix TV, broadcast the entire event live, which constituted nearly two hours of live television. Such use of news agency live coverage by the Hong Kong stations is unprecedented.
