BBC Alba To Air Live Coverage Of Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

BBC ALBA will join the Glasgow 2026 broadcast line-up, delivering live action every evening alongside nightly highlights throughout the Commonwealth Games.

Running from the Opening Ceremony on 23 July to the Closing Ceremony on 2 August, the channel will offer live sport each night and round-ups capturing standout performances, inspiring stories and memorable moments. All programming will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

The service will enable audiences across Scotland to experience the Games through distinctive Gaelic coverage, celebrating world-class competition and Scotland's cultural heritage as the host nation.

Fronting the output will be BBC ALBA's commentary team led by Derek 'Pluto' Murray, whose insight and passion will be supported by a panel of experienced analysts and contributors.
