Leader Partners With Digimetrics For IBC

News Image
Leader Instruments has announced a new distribution partnership agreement with Digimetrics.
The deal embraces the FS3140 system which Leader will be introducing to European broadcasters at IBC in Amsterdam, 13-17 September 2013.
"The increasing popularity and economic advantages of file-based content capture and asset management make file-centric signal analysis a central element of the broadcast and digital film production business," comments Eric Carson, founder and Business Unit Manager of Digimetrics Inc.
"We look forward to working with Leader in the European market where our file-based technologies sit very comfortably with its live video and audio signal analysis instruments."
"Digimetrics has an excellent track record in the fields of file-based quality measurement, content review and standards-based signal correction," adds George Gonos, President of Leader Instruments Corporation.
"This agreement is intended to form the basis of an ongoing partnership as the two companies continue to develop their respective technical strengths."
The Leader FS3140 is an automated, file-based quality control system with a web-based control interface and fault reporting. Features include a range of baseband quality measurements, multiple container and codec support and operator-configurable test template creation.
The FS3140 is closely integrated with a frame-accurate player to allow efficient fault inspection and analysis. It uses perception-based artifact detection, multi-level block noise analysis, black/freeze-frame detection, silence detection and filtered audio noise detection to identify visible or audible defects in file content.
Professional version tests include macroblock noise detection, upconversion detection, comb artifacts, field swaps, tape hits, perception-based artifacts (film and analog noise), average loudness (A/85, R128, ARIB), mono audio detection in stereo pair, HardingFPA-certified flash/PSE detection, profanity detection for text, QP blurring, audio hiss and hum, plus wow and flutter detection.
Leader will be represented on stand 11.A38 at IBC by Richard Heath from Leader Europe and USA-based colleagues from Leader Instruments Corporation.
