Gee and TSL agree to extend collaboration

Television Systems Limited (TSL) and Gee Broadcast Systems Limited - two of the UK's longer established companies supplying the television broadcast and media industries – have extended their collaboration to provide high-quality products for the market.
This new alliance has been possible due to TSL's endorsement of the Gee Broadcast Geevs Video Server range. Gee Broadcast Systems are now focusing on the further development, sales and support of Geevs technology.
TSL have incorporated various configurations of the Geevs Servers in recent installations and proposals. This includes upgrades at the Stornoway-based Gaelic language broadcasting channel which received widescreen operation and Digital Server Playout during May 2002; and the new daily Greek Business Channel (GBC) in Athens which was equipped with two Geevs servers and Incite Editing systems all sharing a GaSSS SAN storage system to enable enhanced productivity.
Russell Grute, TSL's Systems Sales Manager, said: "Next-generation equipment such as Geevs, when correctly integrated and installed, is just what customers have been waiting for.
"A low-cost server architecture such as Geevs, when combined with the shared storage GaSSS, gives a fully featured system with a low start-up cost and options for future scalability. On the control side, using the native Geevs acquisition and playout applications will provide a system which can work out of the box."
Keith Gee, Managing Director at Gee Broadcast, said: "We are very pleased that TSL have chosen to use Geevs Servers. TSL have a long history of providing well-engineered Broadcast Quality installations around the world and their acceptance of Geevs confirms that Geevs has become a serious player in the broadcast server market."
Geevs Servers are based around the well-established Matrox broadcast hardware. There are Geevs systems now in use in over 20 countries for a wide range of applications including Live Broadcast, Cable TV, Satellite Channel Playout and Sports coverage.
Geevs are produced by Gee Broadcast Systems Ltd who have been supplying the broadcast video market for over 15 years with both products and integrated solutions.
