Gee Broadcast Introduces Two New Geevs Models

Geevs Slim and Geevs SDE3 are two new models in the successful Geevs Broadcast Video Server range. Geevs Slim offers a 1RU package with 1 input and 2 outputs, while Geevs SDE3 increases the channel capacity of the Geevs SDE models.
Built in a 1RU chassis Geevs Slim has been designed for installations where compact and cost effective solutions are required. Typical applications are for OBs or situations where playout from several independent servers is preferred to a single larger system.
The 3 channels in Geevs Slim are provided with 500Gbytes of internal storage and this can be expanded to 2 terabytes internally. External NAS or SAN storage can be attached if required. SDI and Analogue video I/O and embedded, AES and Analogue Audio I/O are all included in Geevs Slim.
Geevs SDE3 provides 3 record channels and 6 playback channels in a single 4RU chassis. Applications are for multichannel playout but also for multichannel record. Often sports or live broadcasters want to record 2 or 3 channels at the same time and then playback highlights or slow motion while recording. Geevs SDE3 is ideal for this. Internal storage with up to 6 drives provides a range of capacities and additional external or shared storage can be used as well.
Geevs SDE3 has a cost per channel at less than £1,000 ($2,000).
Both Geevs Slim and Geevs SDE3 are equipped with Geevs standard Media management tools and Record and Playout software. They can also be controlled from any of the optional Geevs Client software packages or external automation.
Keith Gee of Gee Broadcast said: "We are very pleased to introduce these new models which provide more flexible solutions and also continue to expand the value offered by Geevs Servers.
"They also form part of our open policy and can be used in networked tapeless environments with our Lightworks editors or other products supporting file interchange in avi, mxf or Quicktime formats."
Geevs Slim and SDE3 are available now.
