Gee Broadcast Systems Introduce Trio Of Products At IBC

Gee Broadcast Systems highlighted their Geevs servers and Lightworks Alacrity MR (Multi-Resolution) range, for HD and SD, and three new products for IBC 2006.
New for IBC were the Geevs SDLE, low cost server for digital and analogue environments.
The Geevs SDLE system offers one record and two playout channels and this is expandable to two record and four playout channels in one chassis with up to three terabytes of internal raid storage.
Multiple Geevs SDLE units can be configured with shared media and database operation to create large multi-channel solutions.
Also on show at IBC were Lightworks Softworks and Softworks LE. Softworks offers cutdown editing, minus the video/audio I/O. The LE version also dispenses with the effects to offer a system for portable Lightworks editing.
The Lightworks stable also now includes Lightworks VIT which offers four simultaneous ingest channels without tying up editing suites.
The Lightworks NLE is hailed as the world's fastest craft editing tool and uses the Lightworks jog/shuttle console with analogue audio scrubbing. The Alacrity MR offers real-time effects of mixed SD and HD material and a software switch for instant up/down scaling to the output and a 16-channel audio real-time audio fader surface.
The latest credits for Lightworks include 'Evan Almighty' the sequel to 'Bruce Almighty.'
Geevs and Lightworks Alacrity combination provides a powerful integrated system. The Geevs multi-camera ingest capability offers on-the-fly EDL creation, Gee dub the "VTR Killer" for broadcast environment.
