Disney Deal With BT Vision On Kids

Disney Channel UK has signed a new deal with BT Vision allowing viewers to watch Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney programming on demand in a Disney branded environment.
The service will launch this week and follows a multi-year agreement to use some of Disney Channel's most popular live action and animation series, original movies and key Playhouse Disney programmes, now being made available for customers to pay per view or as part of a subscription to the Kids Pack.
These will include Disney Channel's global smash-hit series 'Hannah Montana', and most of the channel's latest animated hit comedy programmes.
Michael Cairns, General Manager of Disney Channels UK and Ireland commented: "BT Vision's offer opens up a whole new potential audience for Disney Channel and we're delighted to be working with them.
"Our mission is to use new technologies to offer choice and flexibility in accessing our content and now Disney Channel fans will be able to watch their favourite shows whenever they like on a per show or a monthly subscription basis, it's their choice."
This new agreement underlines Disney Channel's commitment to using new technologies to put choice in the hands of kids and families to let them engage with the channel's content via as many different platforms as possible.
Dan Marks, Chief Executive of BT Vision added: "The combination of Disney Channel's strong, family oriented content and well trusted values means this deal makes a major contribution to the appeal of our kids' offering for both parents and children alike. It also further underlines our extremely strong and excellent value BT Vision Kids service."
Over the past year Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney have gone from strength to strength with Disney Channel growing its audience share by 20.5% year on year.
Playhouse Disney celebrated its most successful performance ever in the UK with the channel attracting over five million viewers per quarter since January 2008 and increasing its audience share by 40% year-on-year, making it the fastest-growing kids' channel in the UK.
