Zeal Entertainment Snaps Up Shockwaves NME Awards

Format and events programming distributor Zeal Entertainment, part of the Digital Rights Group (DRG), has secured the rights to distribute a package of shows based on the landmark music event The Shockwaves NME Awards 2008.
Attended by some of the biggest names in modern music, The Shockwaves NME Awards is rapidly becoming the most important awards show in the music calendar. The event will see accolades presented to the cream of emerging and established UK and international music talent, chosen by readers of NME, the UK’s leading weekly music magazine; as well as a host of outstanding live performances. Amongst the acts nominated for awards in 2008 are Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Amy Winehouse, Radiohead, Oasis and Led Zeppelin. The Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 takes place at London’s premier music venue, Indigo at The O2 arena on February 28.
Zeal Entertainment will distribute the international television rights (excluding UK) to a package of titles produced by leading independent production company Remedy Productions for Channel 4. The Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 is a 90’ HD production featuring the ceremony and performances from major music acts including Klaxons, Manic Street Preachers, Jonny Marr (of The Smiths), The Enemy and Gallows featuring Lethal Bizzle. The Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig (1 x 60’ and 3 x 30’), a HD production of the show held after the main Awards ceremony, includes performances from Manic Street Preachers, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Klaxons and The Cribs.
Providing a dose of rock and roll antics - a 60’ backstage show is also available – T4 Reveals All: Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 features interviews and highlights from the Awards, the Big Gig and the after show party. Also included is the 6 x 15’ Shockwaves NME Awards Nominations - countdown shows each focusing on one specific category and profiling all the nominees. Guest presenters include Kelly Osborne, Kaiser Chiefs, Kimberly Stewart, Sadie Frost, Kate Nash and Peaches Geldof.
