Blue's Post Production Offer Extended

A London-based end-to-end post-production facility - blue - has added to its existing 'Pro Tools' offering with a significant investment in Digidesign ICON integrated consoles.
Installed and supported by Scrub, the Soho-based division of HHB specialising in audio technology for post, the upgrade includes a new 32-fader ICON D-Control with Surround Panner, a 16-fader ICON D-Control and a 24-fader ICON D-Command.
The new consoles are installed in three of blue's five Pro Tools rooms, and are already working on a variety of TV post projects for clients including
Darlow Smithson, Talkback, Optimen, Tiger Aspect, Betty, North One, Monkey Kingdom, Discovery and Channel 4.
"ICON and Pro Tools is the only solution that offers the speed, flexibility and integration to cater for the multi-studio, back-to-back projects of the variety, scale and schedules we deal with daily," said Studio Manager Jim Jacobs.
"We also have 26 networked Avids which pass files to the studios, further facilitating the tapeless workflow," he said.
Integration of the new ICONs into the existing Pro Tools infrastructure was handled by Scrub – a process that proved to be 'painless' as Jacobs goes on to report.
"Scrub supplied our original Pro Tools HD set ups, so we’re already familiar with the team.
"Once again, they proved to be helpful, knowledgeable, patient and supportive throughout."
Formed in 1995, blue is a highly successful creative post-production facility, offering specialist services to the broadcast television market.
With a wide range of services in both picture and audio, blue provides a complete post-production solution from storyboard through to final delivery.
Speaking for Scrub, Director of Sales Ben Nemes says "We're confident that the addition of ICON to blue's Pro Tools environment will not only enhance
workflow, but also what they’re able to create for their clients."
