Cwnmi Da Appoints Nici Beech As Director Of Development

Cwmni Da has appointed Nici Beech as Director of Development.
Beech is a former commissioning editor of programmes with S4C and she has extensive experience in the field of factual, entertainment and children’s programming.
The Caernarfon based television production company regard this as an exciting development. Dylan Huws, one of the directors of Cwmni Da said: "This is part of our strategy to supply a constant stream of fresh and appealing ideas to S4C and other broadcasters. Having a strong creative person such as Nici join the team is an indication of our company’s aim to prioritise creative excellence."
Beech added: "Cwmni Da is renowned for producing original, appealing programmes of quality. I am very excited as I look forward to working with one of Wales’s foremost television companies."
Beech, who lives in Y Groeslon, joined S4C in 2000 as Editorial Assistant in the Children’s Department. She went on to work in the Programmes Department and was responsible for commissioning some of the channel’s most popular programmes.
Beech is the latest to join Cwmni Da. Earlier this month, David Parry Evans was appointed as the company’s General Manager. Before joining Cwmni Da, David worked as Senior Manager for Trinity Mirror newspapers at Llandudno Junction.
Dylan Huws said: "We are please to have secured the services of such an experienced person as David, who comes from a strong managerial background. The company is growing and the appointment strengthens our structure as a business."
It has been a busy few weeks for the company who won an award at the Celtic Media Festival at Skye.
'Celtic Monsters', a co-production with the Irish company Midas, won the award for best youth programme. The company also received five Bafta Cymru nominations recently, with “Jones, Jones, Jones” winning the award for best sound.
