Zonemedia Launches Horror Channel In The Netherlands

Zonemedia has launched its highly successful Zone Horror Channel in The Netherlands, it has been announced by Dermot Shortt, CEO Zonemedia.
Available throughout the Netherlands through a dedicated feed, with all programming subtitled into the Dutch language, Zone Horror is carried on both UPC in its extra channel pack and on CAIW in its Digital Plus package.
Zone Horror launched in the UK in June 2004 to over 10 million subscribers and is one of Zonemedia’s most popular channel brands.
Louise Cottrell, Commercial Sales Director, Western Europe (incl UK), Middle East and Africa, who concluded the Dutch carriage deals on behalf of Zonemedia commented: "Horror is an extremely popular genre throughout the world and our channel, Zone Horror is attracting loyal audiences and increased viewership; As the programming content of Zone Horror continues to get stronger and richer, we are appealing to even more carriers who wish to widen the scope of their channel package deals. We are delighted to be working with both CAIW and UPC in Holland."
Other Zonemedia channels also on air in The Netherlands include Zone Reality and Zone Club, both of which are fully localized in Dutch.
UPC Nederland is a leading provider of cable television, broadband internet and fixed and mobile telephone services in the Netherlands. UPC serves 2.2 million television customers (of which 350,000 digital cable), over 500,000 broadband Internet customers and 350,000 telephony customers (as of 30 of June, 2006). UPC Nederland is a consolidated subsidiary to Liberty Global.
Zone Horror, owned and operated by Zonemedia, is the only global channel dedicated to horror content. Currently available to over 17.5 million UK subscribers as a free-to-air service on BSkyB, ntl’s family package and Telewest’s supreme package, the channel sources horror genres from around the world, providing a powerful schedule guaranteed to keep even die-hard horror fans on the edge of their seats.
