GMG Announces New Training Course For Media Professionals

The GMG has announced two brand-new training courses, specially designed for Gloucestershire’s Media Professionals.
The ‘Film-making workshop’ in conjunction with the forthcoming Viewfinder Film Festival 2007will show local filmmakers how to script, shoot and post-produce a short film in a professional way. Anna Krenkova, Project Manager of the GMG-TRAIN commented: “Most people starting out in the industry do not have the time or money to engage in lengthy and expensive training sessions. This compact course runs over four evenings and will be delivered by industry professionals on industry standard equipment. Best of all the training is free to Gloucestershire residents due to funding from the European Social Fund. This is a fantastic opportunity for all film-making novices who want an insight into the work of the Media professional.”
And for all those that already have that technical knowledge and are now starting a career as a sole trader or freelancer in the Media industry, the 'How to be a freelancer?' training course will guide them through the labyrinth of legal, accountancy, marketing and pitching. Greg Browning, Chair of the GMG speaks out of experience: “When you first start out in the Media industry, things can get a bit overwhelming as people often don’t realise the pitfalls which a more experienced person might avoid. To give freelancers the support that they need to get things right from the start, GMG-TRAIN is offering a FREE compact training course running over four evenings in November, covering everything the new freelancer needs.”
To be delivered by the GMG-TRAIN project in partnership with Cirencester Media Academy, Gloscat and the University of Gloucestershire. These unique training sessions have been designed by industry professionals and are tailored to meet the demands of the Media industry in Gloucestershire.
Places are strictly limited on both of these courses and bookings can be made on
