MSU Denver Adopts QuickLink StudioPro To Boost Practical Media Training

Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) has invested in QuickLink StudioPro™ to modernise its television studios and enhance practical training for students pursuing broadcast, digital media and live production careers.

Procured via the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) and operated by MSU Denver’s Department of Journalism and Media Production, the platform is introducing streamlined, professional-grade workflows. Although the roll-out is ongoing, initial reactions from students and faculty have been highly positive.

Dave Kinney, a media production expert who has worked in radio, television and live production since 1987, has led the move to the new system and says its flexibility serves a wide range of student roles across the studio environment.

Kinney highlighted how the system adapts to different crew sizes and teaching scenarios.

This approach allows the department to retain traditional production training while embracing contemporary, simplified workflows.

Installed last summer, StudioPro will see broader adoption in the upcoming academic year. Kinney will integrate the system from day one in the university’s introductory TV production course starting in August. Met Media, MSU Denver’s student-run media organisation, is also expected to increase usage for campus news and entertainment content.

The university views StudioPro’s adaptability, ease of use and professional capabilities as central to preparing students for an evolving media industry and a cornerstone of its longer-term vision.
