Spensley joins MotionFX from Yorkshire TV

MotionFX, specialists in Scene-to-Screen Digital Film production and post-production have enhanced their ability to provide a unique and compelling post-production service to the broadcast and film industry by adding Gareth Spensley to their creative team.
Spensley's addition to MotionFX follows their highly successful venture into digital-film features work, having completed Digital Intermediate post-production on the Wesley Snipes vehicle 'Chaos'; performed all production and post-production on ‘Silence Becomes You’, the worlds first feature film to be shot entirely in FilmStream mode on the Thomson Viper; and having performed VFX work on Roman Polanski’s 'Oliver Twist'.
At Yorkshire Television Spensley ran Edit 1, and was responsible for on-line editing, vfx, titles and grading of notable projects such as The BBC's episodic series 'Bodies', as well as YTV's 'HeartBeat' and 'A Touch of Frost'.
MotionFX Viper Digital Cinematography, with associated disc based Digital Film Recorders, integrates seamlessly with the post-production department consisting of iQ Digital Intermediate and VFX services using Digital Fusion and Maya 3D.
“We had been looking for some time for a skilled multi-tasking Quantel iQ creative operator, who can work on our feature film projects and broadcast oriented projects,” said Justin Lanchbury, MotionFX Sales Manager.
Since joining MotionFX Gareth has already worked on the Digital Intermediate grading of Dragonfly Film's 'Silence Becomes You'. "When you're this busy there's no time for an easy introduction period," added Justin.
John O’Quigley, MotionFX Operations Director, said: “Gareth's background and experience perfectly matches our needs, with four years' full time experience as an online editor, colourist and compositor. With his addition to the MotionFX team we are able to offer full post-production services for commercials, promos and long-form TV projects, as well as our key digital film work.”
Lanchbury added: “This specifically enhances our Broadcast VFX and graphics services as we can provide a more complete package, extending on our film experience and expertise. It also means that clients get feature film technology, mentality and business practices at broadcast rates. By combining this with our Viper Digital Cinematography service, TV producers can easily obtain the highest quality feature film production values in the market without breaking their budgets.”
Next up for MotionFX and Gareth is 'Eating Dust', a British comedy feature based around Speedway riders, produced by Jinx films.
