Avenue Productions has announced that Pat Shortt's directorial debut, 'Warts and All' has won Best Short Narrative International Short, at Newport Beach International Film Festival 2022.

Filmed on location in Galway, 'Warts and All' was written by Michelle Lehane, developed and produced by Lee Crowley and the team at Avenue Productions, starring Danny McCafferty and Michelle Lehane.

Pat Shortt's short film follows a single thirty something, Aron, played by Danny McCafferty, as he attempts to fall in love while struggling to hide his insecurities. In describing the film director Pat Shortt said: "The essence of the story is to capture the Irish psyche, particularly the failure to emotionally engage." Speaking about the win he said: "I am absolutely thrilled with the news that ''Warts and All'' Won the Best Short Narrative International, at the Newport Beach Film Festival. It was a beautiful script, Cast, crew, and production team to work with."

Lee Crowley, producer at Avenue Productions said: "We would like to thank everyone that has voted for our short. We are honoured to receive this award from such a prestigious and special festival and congratulate all the other projects nominated in our category on their incredible work."

Warts and All will next screen at The Richard Harris Film Festival.
