dB Broadcast win multi-million contract to build new Middle East TV Station

Cambridgeshire-based dB Broadcast, one of the leading UK independent systems houses, has won a multi-million pound contract to build a totally new TV station in a purpose-built complex located in the heart of Amman, the capital of the Kingdom of Jordan.
Part of the highly successful Al Ghad newspaper/magazine publishing group, it will be the first independent TV channel in Jordan. The new station will initially consist of one channel, on-air 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which will broadcast a mixture of entertainment, and regional and international news.
dB Broadcast will be responsible for the full technical infrastructure of the new station and will provide support to both the architects and builders. The facility will be located in one custom building and will include three studios, edit suites, newsroom and playout areas, all taking advantage of the latest technology. dB Broadcast will be assisted in this project by another major British systems house, London-based Electronic Media Systems (EMS), who will act as sub-contractor to dB.

We installed a digital encoding and compression system at ART in Jordan and EMS supplied a major playout and uplink centre to the same company."
