dB Broadcast chooses Suitcase TV for broadcast logging at new London play out facility

Suitcase TV, the experts in monitoring and logging products for the broadcast industry, have been chosen to supply their Purple Logging for the monitoring and logging purposes of 18 channels for a new play out facility in central London on behalf of systems integrator dB Broadcast.
The Purple Logging system chosen is part of the successful Purple range of monitoring and video streaming products developed by Suitcase TV.
Tom Swan, dB's Director of Sales and Marketing, said: "A number of systems were extensively evaluated. The solution from Suitcase TV was the only one that met all the customer's requirements."
The Purple Logging system enables the decoding and display of the video, audio and certain VBI and associated services such as subtitling.
Purple Logging consists of one or more Suitcase TV TeraStor intelligent storage devices which can be networked to provide as much storage as the system installation requires. The video is stored as MPEG-1 with layer 2 audio. In addition a range of transport stream parameters are sampled every ten seconds and stored.
Access to the archived data is via a multi-user Purple Log Browser application enabling users to log on and examine the output from anywhere on the network.
