dB Broadcast to build new survey vehicles for the BBC

dB Broadcast, one of the UK's largest independent broadcast systems integrators, has won the contract to build two new transmission survey vehicles for BBC Strategy & Distribution.
The specialist vehicles will be used to measure terrestrial television and radio reception throughout the UK, including DTT and DAB.
The vehicle, which will be used both on-and-off-road, will require adaptation for installation of the test and measuring equipment and auxiliary power system. Coach-work, including installation of a pneumatic mast, will be carried out for dB by Spectra Specialist Engineering, based in Westbury, Wiltshire.
Tom Swan, dB's Director of Sales And Marketing, said: "dB is increasingly recognised for its expertise in the design and build of specialist vehicles, requiring complex engineering and adaptation. This contract is a further acknowledgement of our competence in this area."
