LWT RESTRUCTURES ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTION

LWT have created a new senior management structure within their entertainment department following the departure of controller of entertainment Nigel Lythgoe.
The move comes as LWT searches for a replacement for Lythgoe, who recently left the company to join 19 TV in the summer, and will see entertainment split into three units headed by three new executive producers.
Paul Lewis becomes executive producer of the department's new clip show unit. He will oversee series and specials such as ‘TV Nightmares’, ‘The Way They Were’ and ‘Tarrant on TV’.
Chris O'Dell becomes executive producer of series. He is currently producing the new run of Cilla Black's ‘Moment of Truth’.
Jeff Thacker, who has produced LWT specials such as ‘Motown Mania’ and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’, becomes executive producer specials and event programming.
All three will report to LWT head of entertainment Bob Massie, who is overseeing the department. Highlighting that the promotions were intended to consolidate LWT's position in the market, Massie said: “With our existing portfolio, a slate of new commissions and our new executive team in place, there are exciting times ahead for us.”
LWT this week confirmed that they would be making Sky One's forthcoming UK version of Temptation Island as a collaboration with the show's creator, Fox. (AMcE)
