Top Producer Heads Up Entertainment And Events For BBC Scotland

Independent producer Eileen Herlihy - who lists Strictly Come Dancing, The Weakest Link, Star Spell and The F Word among her credits - is BBC Scotland's new Head of Entertainment and Events.
Eileen, currently an Executive Producer with IWC, has worked as series producer on The Weakest Link, Eggheads and Without Prejudice?
She will be responsible for all in-house network entertainment productions at BBC Scotland as well as a diverse Events portfolio.
Donalda MacKinnon, Head of Programmes and Services at BBC Scotland, said: "I am delighted that Eileen is joining us in this key role as she brings extensive experience gained through independent productions and a solid BBC background.
"She also has extensive leadership experience and I know she will bring energy and flair to driving forward our in-house development and production in Entertainment and Events."
Eileen Herlihy will take up her post on August 24, 2009.
A new Head of Region has also been appointed for the BBC in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Currently Head of News at ITV Anglia, David Jennings will take over his new post in September and be responsible for managing BBC Look North in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, BBC Humberside, BBC Lincolnshire and online staff.
He said: "I was born in Hull and spent much of my childhood in Yorkshire, so this feels rather like coming home.
"It's a great part of the country, and I'm really looking forward to working with the talented and creative BBC teams across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire."
David started work at Anglia in 1987 as a production journalist, moving on to roles as a reporter and producer.
He began his journalistic career as a trainee on the Eastern Daily Press in Norwich, working as a reporter and sub-editor, before joining Radio Broadband in Norwich in 1985.
