ITN becomes first UK customer to select Xenon range from Quartz

Quartz has announced that ITN has become the first UK customer to place an order for Xenon, ordering two units to add to their existing Quartz routers.
The current system was installed last year at ITN's main facilities in Grays Inn Road, London.
The multilevel system is used to delegate control of three studios to different galleries (control rooms) and switches all signals associated with each studio. The new routers will expand SDI switching capability to meet increasing demand in this area and will be controlled by the existing panels installed at ITN.
ITN produces news and factual programmes for television, radio and new media platforms, both in the UK and overseas. Their main London facility has five television studios for ITV, Channel Four, Five and the ITV News Channel, as well as a large 'Virtual Reality' studio.
Xenon, first shown at NAB earlier this year, has rapidly become successful around the world with orders from major broadcasters in the US, Europe and Asia.
Paul Flook, Head of ITN Broadcast Engineering, commented: "We have been very happy with the equipment and support we have received from Quartz. Xenon offers us simple integration while adding new features and the ability to add new formats in the future."
IBC 2004 saw the official launch of Xenon into Europe.
