Dolby Boosts OptiView At IBC 2026

Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB) has announced significant upgrades to Dolby OptiView, its live sports platform, ahead of IBC 2026. The release introduces a new AI-driven Sports Intelligence capability, adds Dolby Vision to OptiView for the first time, and broadens support for Dolby OptiView Ads across more video players.

Dolby OptiView is built to make live sport more compelling. It equips teams, leagues and streaming providers with tools to understand audiences, tailor more personalised viewing, unlock monetisation opportunities and deliver premium-quality live coverage that sustains attention.

"From rivalries to the underdog stories that turn into epic championship runs, sports are defined by the moments that fans care about most," said Giles Baker, Senior Vice President of Dolby Cloud Solutions, Dolby Laboratories. "As audiences engage with sports in more ways than ever, understanding what resonates with fans has become increasingly important. Dolby OptiView gives our partners the power to deliver live sports experiences that take fan engagement to a new level, building stronger connections and loyalty while creating opportunities to increase revenue."

The new Dolby OptiView Sports Intelligence uses Dolby-developed AI models, combining real-time game data with viewer signals to map the narrative of a match minute by minute and pinpoint what holds each viewer’s interest. Providers can then create highlights, catch-ups and personalised feeds, and anticipate when engagement might dip so they can intervene proactively.

These insights can power adaptive experiences without asking viewers to fine-tune settings themselves: data-focused fans might see timely stats when play slows; fantasy followers juggling multiple teams could be nudged into or out of multiview to catch key moments across fixtures; and newer audiences could be drawn in with off-field storylines, rivalries and behind-the-scenes context.

Dolby Vision is now available through Dolby OptiView, delivering greater brightness, contrast, colour and detail for live sport — from high-intensity drives to the atmosphere of packed stadiums and subtler moments that are easy to miss. The Seattle Seahawks have become the first team to launch Dolby OptiView with Dolby Vision, offering exclusive live programming and preseason coverage via the official Seahawks app and Seahawks.com.
