Detective Conan: Fallen Angel Of The Highway Opens In Dolby Cinemas Across Japan

Dolby Laboratories announced that Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway will be released in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos at Dolby Cinema venues throughout Japan from 10 April 2026.

The title is the first feature completed at TOHO Studios' newly established post-production facility, which is Japan's first site to support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos under one roof.

Debuting this Friday, the film will screen across the country's Dolby Cinemas, including the recently opened TOHO Cinemas Oimachi, promising heightened immersion with high-dynamic-range images and precise, object-based sound that help filmmakers fully convey their creative intent.

The franchise's hallmark large-scale action and suspense are presented with added realism. Motorcycle sequences racing across Japan benefit from Dolby Vision's contrast and colour performance, rendering everything from sparkling night skylines to the glare of oncoming headlights with clarity, while Dolby Atmos places the roar of engines, tyre squeal and ambient effects dynamically around the auditorium.

TOHO Cinemas Oimachi opened on 28 March as part of the OIMACHI TRACKS mixed-use development. The complex houses eight screens, with the Dolby Cinema serving as the flagship and largest auditorium.

Dolby Cinema pairs Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos with purpose-built theatre design to draw audiences into the story. Features include a dramatic audiovisual entry pathway, a wall-to-wall-to-ceiling curved screen, tailored acoustic treatments and low-distraction architecture, with every seat optimised for comfort, clear sightlines and a consistently premium view.

With Oimachi's launch, Dolby Cinema’s footprint in Japan continues to grow, extending availability of premium presentation to more cinemagoers. From post-production through to exhibition, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are helping elevate cinematic experiences in Japan.
