Dolby Cinema Makes Keralam Debut

Dolby Laboratories and EVM Cinemas have unveiled Keralam's first Dolby Cinema at EVM Cinemas in Fort Kochi, Kochi, marking the fifth Dolby Cinema location in India.

The new auditorium combines Dolby’s cutting-edge picture and sound technologies within a purpose-built environment to deliver an immersive big‑screen experience.

The 450‑seat theatre will open to the public soon alongside a slate of anticipated releases in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The launch extends Dolby’s premium cinema footprint across India and brings the format to a state renowned for its cinematic heritage.

Designed around the Dolby Cinema experience, the site pairs the ultravivid colours, brighter highlights and deeper blacks of Dolby Vision with the multidimensional audio of Dolby Atmos, where sound moves all around the audience. The auditorium also features a wall‑to‑wall‑to‑ceiling screen, finely tuned acoustics, optimised sightlines and seating, and an environment engineered to minimise distractions for a consistently immersive presentation.

Globally, more than 930 theatrical features have been released or confirmed in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, including all of the world’s top 20 highest‑grossing films in 2025. Indian audiences have experienced major titles in Dolby such as RRR, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Game Changer, Babhubali Epic, War 2, Kantara, Raja Saab, Border 2, Peddi, and Toxic.

The addition of EVM Cinemas in Fort Kochi further extends Dolby Cinema’s worldwide presence. In India, it underscores Dolby’s commitment to bringing advanced theatrical experiences to audiences beyond the largest metropolitan centres.
