BCE To Demonstrate Sovereign Cloud Media Workflows
Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) will demonstrate an end-to-end sovereign cloud media supply chain at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam next month.
The European media services, system integration and product development provider will showcase its media ecosystem at Hall 1, Stand C16 at the RAI Amsterdam from September 11 to 14.
The company said its sovereign cloud media environment is designed to help broadcasters meet growing demands around data security, regulatory compliance and operational resilience while retaining greater control over their media supply chains.
BCE's cloud ecosystem has been developed in partnership with European cloud provider Scaleway and media technology company Ateme, providing an alternative to traditional non-European hyperscale cloud providers.
The company will demonstrate how sovereign cloud workflows powered by its Media-as-a-Service (MaaS) approach can provide enterprise-grade performance while allowing organisations to modernise their operations.
"Sovereignty is about more than where data is stored, it is about who controls the media supply chain and whether organisations retain the freedom to choose, adapt and evolve their operations over time," said Sylvain Merle, Chief Technology Officer at BCE. "By combining European cloud infrastructure, trusted media technologies and BCE’s operational expertise, we provide customers with a resilient, production-ready environment in which they can modernise without giving up control or flexibility."
BCE will also highlight its wider portfolio covering media infrastructure, live production, content management, digital distribution and Media-as-a-Service.
Rather than operating as separate technologies, the company says these services can be brought together within an integrated operational environment.
Its MaaS approach is designed to connect workflows, applications and services across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.
The system can coordinate operations across areas including live events, channels and content libraries, with workflows covering ingest, processing, orchestration, distribution, monitoring and support.
BCE says the approach allows customers to scale at their own pace while maintaining flexibility and control over their media operations.
The company's media environment combines its integration and operational expertise with technologies from its partner ecosystem, including Scaleway for European cloud infrastructure, Ateme for media processing and Embrace's Pulse-IT for workflow orchestration.
According to BCE, the combination provides customers with secure, scalable and efficient media workflows while preserving flexibility and freedom of choice.
