Avid Unveils Cloud-Native Media Workflows On AWS
At NAB Show 2026, Avid is demonstrating how its media production solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) are accelerating the shift toward intelligent, cloud-native production.
The company is showcasing purpose-built workflows that deliver the performance, collaboration, and creative control demanded by global media and entertainment organisations.
The NAB debut will feature Avid Content Core, a cloud-native foundation for connected media workflows built on AWS. Designed for news organizations, broadcasters, studios, and streaming services, Content Core enables data-driven creation and collaboration, while accelerating cloud adoption across production pipelines. Avid is also highlighting its continued focus on Avid NEXIS and Avid Media Composer on AWS, which already support large-scale international productions, including collaborations with Amazon MGM Studios to deliver cloud-based Avid workflows worldwide.
At NAB, Avid is emphasizing three key areas:
Cloud and hybrid production at scale – enabling global collaboration without compromising performance, location, or security, powered by Avid NEXIS and Avid Content Core.
Modern newsroom and post-production workflows – providing speed, flexibility, and resilience for evolving content pipelines.
A unified foundation for AI and automation – helping organizations maximize the value of their content via intelligent orchestration.
Renewed Focus on Avid NEXIS
Central to Avid's cloud strategy is Avid NEXIS, the company’s shared media storage platform. Leveraging the Virtual File System (VFS), NEXIS now supports software-defined, cloud-enabled environments for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid deployments.
This flexibility allows teams to:
Run Avid NEXIS Cloud and Media Composer directly in Amazon EC2 and S3 for full cloud-enabled post-production.
Unify cloud-based storage with on-premises environments using Avid NEXIS | Remote for hybrid workflows.
Combine AWS scalability and security with Avid’s proven controls for media workflows.
These capabilities provide elastic performance, global deployment options, and secure remote collaboration while preserving trusted editing workflows, such as Media Composer Shared Projects and real-time collaboration.
Amazon MGM Studios has already deployed Media Composer and NEXIS on AWS, enabling production teams to launch editorial environments globally in minutes and support distributed creative teams seamlessly.
Avid Content Core: The Intelligence Layer
Avid Content Core unifies content, metadata, and workflow orchestration into a single, intelligent platform. The system enables:
AI-first interoperability between Avid and third-party tools.
Persistent content identity and enriched metadata for deeper media understanding.
More efficient workflows by reducing friction across planning, production, and post.
By connecting previously siloed systems, Content Core allows organizations to modernize at their own pace while unlocking new value from their media.
Avid's NAB presentation highlights a vision for open, intelligent, cloud-powered media production—combining reliability, scalability, and AI-driven workflows to meet the demands of the evolving media economy.
Since its introduction, Avid has been collaborating with customers and partners to implement Avid Content Core in real-world production environments, with AWS providing the foundation for scale, performance, and global reach.
