BCE Appoints Head Of Cloud Architecture

BCE has appointed José Nunes as Head of Cloud Architecture, effective from May 5, 2025. In this role, José will report directly to Sylvain Merle, Chief Technology Officer at BCE.

Joining the Technology & Innovation Centre of Excellence, José will play a strategic leadership role in enhancing BCE’s digital transformation. He will be responsible for developing innovative, secure, scalable, and efficient cloud-native infrastructure that supports our media workflows and the Media-as-a-Service platform.

Media-as-a-Service enables our clients to quickly gain clarity and control over their media services by selecting from a range of applications on a fast, simple, and secure online platform.

To achieve these objectives, José will work closely with key teams in product, architecture, and operations to define BCE's long-term cloud vision and deliver high-performing, resilient solutions for our customers.

With over 12 years of experience in cloud architecture, José has developed significant expertise in designing, implementing, and leading cloud solutions that enhance customer experience. He has gained extensive experience at global media and telecommunications companies, including AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Vodafone, as well as in the financial sector at Société Générale Bank & Trust and European institutions like the European Commission.

Throughout his career, José has demonstrated a proven track record of implementing, transforming, and modernising cloud IT infrastructures, leading to optimised workflows and improved service delivery. His focus on innovation and efficiency enables organisations to better meet their clients' needs while navigating the complexities of the digital landscape.

José's strategic mindset and collaborative approach ensure he effectively engages with diverse teams, driving projects forward and fostering an environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
