Broadcast Technology release BTL 3000 DTV modules

News Image
Broadcast Technology have announced the immediate availability of the new BTL 3000 series of modular digital television equipment with a wide range of applications in terrestrial, satellite and cable transmission and reception.
All Broadcast Technology DTV products to date have been accommodated in a discrete chassis. The BTL 3000 series achieves much higher space efficiency and greater affordability by using modular cards, up to 14 of which can be accommodated in a 3 U high 19 inch rack-mounting housing. First four modules in the new range are three DVB receiver modules and a decoder. All cards in the series are fully compatible with DVB or ATSC specifications.
Broadcast Technology's DTSR 3000 is a digital satellite television receiver for QPSK-DVB (S) signals. An ideal front end for an MPEG-2 decoder, it is frequency selectable in 1 MHz steps and incorporates dual DVB-ASI outputs (MPEG-2 transport stream). A reset/status port provides alarm monitoring via contact closure.
The DTTR 3000 digital terrestrial television receiver incorporates a COFDM demodulator for DVB (T) signals. Frequency selectable, it has dual ASI outputs (MPEG-2 transport stream).
Model DTCR 3000 is a frequency-selectable digital cable television receiver for DVB (C) QAM signals, again with dual ASI outputs (MPEG-2 transport stream).
The DTVD 3000 is an MPEG-2 4:2:2 video and audio decoder. Features include ASI multi programme transport stream input, SDI, embedded audio and analogue video and audio outputs.
Ken Chalmers, Broadcast Technology's director of sales and marketing, said: "The BTL 3000 series allows us to offer to a broader client base products combining reliability, flexibility and affordability. The operators of satellite and cable head-ends will find they can now configure highly versatile digital television reception and decoding systems that hitherto demanded the services of an integration engineer. The space-saving potential offered by the BTL 3000's modular structure will also be highly appreciated."
