MPTS Celebrates Record-Breaking 10th Anniversary Edition in London

The Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS) celebrated its landmark 10th anniversary last week, welcoming a record-breaking 13,876 attendees from 54 countries for its biggest and most vibrant edition to date.

Held at The Grand Hall, Olympia London on 13–14 May, the event successfully united professionals from across the media, production, and technology communities for two intensive days of collaboration, networking, and industry conversation.

This year's editorially driven programme featured more than 130 free-to-attend sessions spanning across eight theatres, showcasing the expertise and insight of over 450 speakers and keynote guests. The bustling exhibition floor hosted more than 300 exhibitors and sponsors, highlighting the creativity, innovation and technical excellence driving the industry forward.

At the heart of this year's event was the Keynote Theatre, which brought together some of the industry's most influential voices for thought-provoking discussions on the future of media, storytelling and talent development.

One of the standout discussions at this year's conference came from ScreenSkills' thought-provoking panel, Surviving the Freelancer Squeeze, exploring the challenges facing film and TV freelancers despite booming demand for content across streaming, social media, podcasts and FAST channels. The session highlighted growing pressures on freelance talent and the need for greater industry support.

Also taking to the Keynote stage was broadcaster, columnist and cultural commentator Grace Dent, who joined Scott Bryan for a candid fireside conversation exploring her journey from sharp-tongued critic to one of the UK's most recognisable television personalities. The discussion touched on authenticity, personal brand and staying relevant in an ever-evolving broadcast landscape.

"It is absolutely packed to the rafters. I can hardly hear myself speak. There are people everywhere, stands everywhere. It's really interesting. It feels like the other side of TV that people don't often think about, and I love being in a room that celebrates that. I love the sound people, the camera crews, everyone behind the scenes who makes it all happen.

"And it's not just television either, there's so much more to come here for." said Dent.

The 10th Anniversary edition marked the successful launch of the Creator Hub, a brand-new destination designed to bring together digital-first creators, production teams and technology innovators. Across both the Creator Hub attendees explored the latest creator tools, workflows and trends through a packed programme of talks, live discussions and networking opportunities.

Harry Clark, Traitors Series 2 Winner & TV Presenter, commented at the show, "We're here today celebrating the 10 year anniversary of this amazing show. I love it because it brings together people from across the industry, an industry I was honestly quite scared to get into at first, so being here gives me a real sense of confidence. It's great to speak to people as well. You get so much insight into what you need to keep doing and how to grow within the industry. And honestly, everyone here loves chatting, which I love too. A massive happy 10th birthday to MPTS. Love you guys."

Post Production World Conference Europe (PPW Europe) also made its London debut at MPTS, bringing world-class post production training to Europe for the first time. Attracting more than 100 attendees across the two-day programme, PPW Europe delivered hands-on learning, expert-led sessions and practical insights for professionals working across editing, colour, audio, VFX and AI workflows.

Diversity and representation remained a central focus throughout the event. MPTS continues to set a high benchmark for equal representation across its conference programme and wider event community, something reflected both on stage and across the exhibition floor.

This year saw the number of female speakers rise to 48%, representing an 11% increase year on year.

MPTS continues to reinforce its position as the UK's leading event for media and production professionals - a place where brands, creatives and decision-makers come together to connect, collaborate and grow.

"MPTS is a great show for Ross Video. It gives us the opportunity to meet with many of our customers, system integrators, partners and consultants. It's also a fantastic opportunity to network with industry colleagues and demonstrate all the new things Ross Video is doing." Daniel Shihata, Regional Director, Ross Video.

"In the space of a day and a half, I've run into almost everybody I've known in the industry over the last 30 years, which has been slightly overwhelming. I think the show has been particularly strong this year because many people chose not to attend NAB, whether for cost reasons or otherwise, so we've had the opportunity to meet a lot of those people here instead. It's been a very high-quality show for us, with many of the kinds of meetings we would normally expect to have at NAB now taking place at MPTS, which has been hugely beneficial. We've also had the chance to reconnect with many of our existing customers, who've made the effort to come and see us and share great feedback on the platform, while also meeting a lot of new people we hadn't spoken to before. It's been valuable on both fronts." Rupert Watson, VP GTM EMEA, LucidLink

"Over the last decade we've seen MPTS evolve from a broadcast technology exhibition into so much more.  For RED, the show provides a great opportunity to connect with local customers and partners across the broadcast, content creator and cine communities. It's a well-rounded event that has responded to the changes in the industry and provides something (valuable) for everyone." Candice Cowan, UK and EMEA Marketing, Red Digital Cinema

Charlotte Wheeler, Event Director, MPTS said, "This year's MPTS was our biggest and best yet, bringing thousands of people from across the industry together, the energy across the show floor was incredible. The conversations, connections and sense of community created a real buzz throughout the event - what a way to celebrate our 10 year milestone.

The quality and diversity of attendees across every sector of the industry was exceptional, from technology leaders and broadcasters to production teams, commissioners, creators, freelancers and those just starting their careers.

We want to thank everyone who exhibited, sponsored, spoke, attended and engaged with the show to make it such an amazing 10th Anniversary success. We're already planning for 2027 and can't wait to welcome the industry back again at Olympia London next year."
