Cinegy Makes MPTS Debut with Focus on Hardware-Independent Workflows

News Image
Cinegy GmbH, a leading developer of software-defined television technology, is proud to exhibit at MPTS for the first time. Visitors to the stand will discover how Cinegy's approach to broadcast software eliminates the need for costly hardware overhauls or heavy cloud dependency, giving media organisations the flexibility to work smarter with the infrastructure they already own.

The media landscape has never been more competitive. As audiences fragment across platforms, broadcasters and content creators face mounting pressure to deliver compelling programming as cost-effectively as possible. Cinegy's software-first philosophy is designed precisely for this environment, providing the tools to maximise operational efficiency today, whilst remaining ready to scale as the industry evolves.

What sets Cinegy apart is the freedom it gives its users. The platform is built around true modularity, covering everything from ingest and production through to multiviewing, playout and automation, allowing each organisation to adopt only what suits their workflow. MPTS visitors will have the opportunity to witness major updates to Cinegy Air, Cinegy Capture, Cinegy Route and Cinegy Multiviewer.

Interoperability has always been at the heart of how Cinegy builds its products. Modern facilities routinely work across SDI, NDI and SMPTE ST2110, balancing on-premises infrastructure with SRT-based contribution and distribution. Cinegy Route has spent two decades ensuring these formats coexist seamlessly, handling video, audio and metadata without compromise so that engineers and users can focus on creative and editorial goals, rather than technical constraints.

"We build software that works hard, so our customers don't have to work around it," said Daniella Weigner, Managing Director and co-founder of Cinegy. "The economics of the industry right now are genuinely difficult. Hardware costs are climbing, GPUs are in short supply and the cloud has not delivered the savings many hoped for. Our answer is software that performs brilliantly on commodity infrastructure, without forcing anyone into an expensive upgrade cycle.

"MPTS feels like exactly the right place to have this conversation," Weigner added. "UK and European broadcasters are pragmatic and technically sophisticated. They understand the value of proven, flexible technology and we are very much looking forward to meeting them and demonstrating our solutions."
